So this is the first official photo that I saved properly from this camera, since I lost all the raw files I shot before this one. At the top of the stairs all the way to the left there are two cops kind of hiding behind the guardrail. One rolled up and told me “it’s illegal to take pictures in the subway stations after 9/11″ and force me to stop shooting and leave. It was bullshit, the rules never changed, photographs and video in any public area of NYC is allowed.

To prove they are idiots even more the MTA official “rules of conduct” state that photo’s are allowed in any public area of the subway, provided you don’t use flash, reflectors, lights, or a tripod. It is outlined in Section 1050.9 C of the rules of conduct. I was lawful and not getting in the way of traffic or bothering any one there. Even after showing them the posted MTA rules of conduct it wasn’t good enough, they threatened me with some other false charges if I didn’t leave. One more reason why I hate retarded cops.

    Section 1050.9 C reads:
Photography, filming or video recording in any facility or conveyance is permitted except that ancillary equipment such as lights, reflectors or tripods may not be used. Members of the press holding valid identification issued by the New York City Police Department are hereby authorized to use necessary ancillary equipment. All
